Amazon Prime Reading now available in India, gives users access to hundreds of eBooks
The books are a part of the user’s Prime membership and will not cost anything extra for digital copies. You can access the eBooks from your Kindle reader or the Kindle app on iOS, Android, and PC. You can also access them through the Kindle Lite app
If you are an Amazon Prime member in India, then there is good news for you. Amazon has launched Prime Reading in India which will give you access to hundreds of books from Amazon’s book library in the cost of your Prime membership. Users have access to a large library of books across genres and can read them on any device so long as they have the Kindle app installed and are logged into their Amazon Prime accounts.
Prime Reading is different from Kindle Unlimited. Kindle Unlimited was launched in India back in 2015 and is priced at Rs 150 per month, the same as the monthly Prime Membership. However, with Prime, users get access to faster delivery of goods purchased on Amazon and access to Amazon Prime Videos, Prime Music. Now, Prime Reading has been added to that list and features hundreds of popular books from all around the world, available to read without any extra charges. However, a series like Harry Potter where all the 7 books are available to readers under the Kindle Unlimited plan, only the first book is available for Prime Reading.
If you have a Kindle reader or an app on your iOS or Android device, or the Kindle lite app, you can access the books listed under Primes Reading. You can also head to Amazon.in to add Prime Reading books to your Kindle library. The Store on the Kindle app also has a dedicated section highlighting the books users can read for free with their Prime Membership.
Prime Reading has been a part of Amazon Prime in the US for some time now. It has been active since October 2016 and includes hundreds of popular titles spanning literature, non-fiction, fiction, romance, comic books, books in indian languages and more.
