BBM 2.6 update brings iOS 8, Lollipop support and better chat features
BBM 2.6 update brings group stickers, better Android Lollipop and iOS 8 support.
BlackBerry has released its updated BBM version 2.6 app for BlackBerry, Android and iOS OS. The update brings chat stickers, timed messages and improvements based on users feedback.
The new BBM 2.6 comes with Snapchat like timed messages, where users will be able to set a timer of up to 60 seconds, after which the message will be deleted once opened. The timed messages and images can be viewed multiple times until the timer expires.
BBM 2.6 update brings the landscape mode for Android 5.0 Lollipop users. Blackberry has also introduced the ability to share multiple images and attachments for BB10 OS devices.
Blackberry has introduced a new design for iOS users matching with the iOS 8's UI. The app has also been optimised for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screens.
Jesse Ariss of BlackBerry stated in a blog post, "You can't help but notice the sleek and modern design updates like a flat UI and attractive transparencies. These adjustments make BBM look sharp across supported Apple devices."
The update to the BlackBerry Messenger app brings the addition of chat stickers to groups. Blackberry added that it is currently running a special offer on sticker packs, which are priced at $0.99 (roughly Rs. 62) for a limited time only. Users can download the updated app from BlackBerry World, Google Play and Apple Store.
BlackBerry which has been trying to revive its fortune, has announced 'BlackBerry Festive Giveaway' starting from 10 Dec where users will be offered some mobile apps either for free or at huge discounts. The company is also giving one app free till 25th Dec as a part of the promotion.
