Redmi has recently launched its Note 17 Pro series in the Indian market. The Redmi Note 17 series does not boast the standard Note 17, Note 17 Pro and the Note 17 Pro Max version. The Note 17 Pro was launched in the mid-range segment and is a direct competitor to the Motorola Edge 70 Pro and the Vivo S2. While the smartphones may fall in the same price bracket, they are designed to cater to different audiences, as they show visible differences. The Redmi Note 17 Pro has a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. When used outdoors the device can reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G uses a slightly smaller 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with a faster 144Hz refresh rate. The handset also supports HDR10+, and under bright sunlight the display can be as bright as 5,200 nits.

Vivo with its S2 offers a 6.83-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The company also claims a peak brightness of 3,000 nits when the device is used outdoors. Moreover, the device also has IP68 and IP69 ratings to ensure that your device is protected against dust and water.

Motorola sports MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset with its Edge 70 Pro. Not only that but it also gets paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. The Motorola Edge 70 pro runs on Android 16 with Motorola’s clean Hello UI interface out of the box.

In comparison to that, the Vivo S2 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset, which is clubbed with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Out of the box, the handset runs on OriginOS 6, a skin based on Android 16. 

While the Redmi Note 17 Pro comes packed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. The buyers will also get an option to choose from up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The smartphone is shipped with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

Talking about the battery, the Redmi Note 17 Pro comes packed with a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon cell which gets 67W wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging support. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro, on the other hand, houses a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery which is supported by 90W fast wired charging. The Vivo S2 comes with a 7,050 mAh battery that is clubbed with 44W wired charging and reverse wired charging.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 17 Pro comes with a dual camera setup at the back, including a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary camera. At the front the device comes with a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro sports a versatile triple camera setup at the back which includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor. For selfies and video calls, it comes with a 50MP front-facing camera.

However, the Vivo S2 houses a 50MP Sony main rear camera which is further supported by a 2MP secondary lens. It also packs a 32MP front-facing camera that comes in handy for selfies and video calls.

The Redmi launched its Note 17 Pro with a starting price of Rs 36,999, while the Motorola Edge 70 Pro debuted with a price tag of Rs 38,999, and the Vivo S2 landed in the Indian markets with a price tag of Rs 39,999.
