Intex has launched its first Android based smartwatch called the IRist, today at MWC Shanghai. The IRist features a 240 x 240 square display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It has 4GB of storage on board and features 512MB of RAM. However, unlike Android wear watches, the IRist runs on a custom version of Android. Also, the IRist is meant to be a standalone device and offers built-in 3G SIM support and can be used to make calls. The watch features a 600mAh battery which Intex claims can give upto 4 hours of talk-time. There is a 5MP camera on the iRist as well.
