IIT Roorkee is organising its annual technical festival Cognizance 2018. The festival will be held from March 23 to March 25 and will see students participate in a number of events and competitions designed to showcase their technical acumen. The festival will play host to over 200 events with a total prize pool of over Rs 20 lakh to be distributed amongst the winners.

As the spring is almost in the air, IIT Roorkee proudly presents the largest annual technical festival, Cognizance 2018, a plethora of exciting events with the theme base on "Dreaming Discoveries". Cognizance provides ingenious students a platform for displaying their technical acumen through over broad spectrum of competitions and events conducted in it. Our workshops help the tech-enthusiastic students to stay updated with the latest technical knowledge and the exhibitions evince the cutting-edge technology from around the globe.
Cognizance codifies Insomnia, a nocturnal coding event based on exploiting both patience and programming skills of participants captioning basic string manipulation to dynamic complex programming; Mindsweeper, an event questioning the mettle and coding skill of the participants; and case studies denominated as AI, teAch, Blockrush, AddictEd and Artboard, and a lot more. Ain't an Illusion (AI) canvass the questions whether or not to trust the embodiment and enhancement in the field of AI technology, where teAch aims for improving the education system by the introduction of technologies and technovising communication between teachers and students. Blockrush involves applying concepts of Blockchain technology to real-life problems and solving it using this technology and the impact it will hammer in upcoming years. AddictEd focuses on the side effects caused by porn addiction and is looking forward to its remedial. Applicate provides a platform to developers from both Android and iOS ecosystem for showcasing their creativity and skills in form of apps and competing with each other.
Cognizance also organizes robotics combat (Armageddon), drone racing both on land (Powerdrift) and in water (Poseidon), drone making competition like Aeronova, Cyborg Breakin, and Quadrone to cross the obstruction framed in robotics store competing with each other for their way to rise victorious. Cognizance is also set to provide knowledge and skills in technical fields like ethical hacking, web development, cloud computing, app development, IoT, Mercedes engine, embedded systems, machine learning and AI through various multifaceted workshops.
