ZTE starts making its online presence, hinting at the upcoming launch of Nubia brand in India.

ZTE is bringing its Nubia brand in India and has mailed out a teaser to media with the line 'Hope to surprise you real soon!' The company is trying to establish an online presence in the country, hinting at its imminent entry.
According to reports, the Nubia Z9 Mini will be the first Nubia phone on that market. The Nubia Z9 Mini smartphone has a 5-inch Full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels display resolution with Coring Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 1GHz) processor paired with 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It has a 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. The handset has a 16 MP primary camera with LED flash and an 8 MP secondary selfie snapper. It has inbuilt proximity, accelerometer and ambient light sensors. The Nubia Z9 Mini is backed by a 2,900 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with ZTE's Nubia UI 2.8 on top.
The company has created India-specific website called www.nubia.in and has also started establishing there online presence on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The Nubia Z9 Mini costs CNY 1,499 in China ($241). Although the launch date and pricing details of the device in India have not been revealed yet, it is expected to cost around Rs 16,000.
ZTE has already launched several handsets in India, like the ZTE Grand S II, ZTE V5 and more recently the ZTE N919D. The smartphones target towards budget to mid-range consumers in this price segment. ZTE handsets will compete with Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi, Lenovo as well as domestic handset manufacturers like Micromax, Lava, Karbonn, etc. India which is fastest growing smartphone market globally, has become a priority for mobile phone manufacturers. The country has seen a significant increase in Internet users due to low cost data plans as well as the launch of low cost handsets. A new entrant in to the Indian market would increase the competitive pressure further as well as help in driving the prices down further.
