After a dozen delays and a thousand rumours, Rockstar Games, developers of the GTA franchise, have officially given out an update regarding the pre-orders of GTA 6. Thankfully, there is no delay this time around, and the game is locked in for the November release date. As past rumours suggested, the pre-orders aren’t actually far away, and in typical Rockstar fashion, their announcement has been made just days before the pre-orders actually go live. Rockstar has also revealed the official cover art for the game. So without wasting much time, let’s take a detailed look at when you can start pre-ordering the game.

Rockstar Games has officially announced that pre-orders for GTA 6 will begin on June 25, 2026. The game will be available for pre-purchase on digital shopfronts for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as through select physical retailers. As seen in the official announcement, found in fans can also check out the newly revealed cover art. Currently, Rockstar has not confirmed the official retail pricing for the pre-orders.

GTA 6: Release date
After years of anticipation and a lot of delays along with it, the final release date for GTA 6 has been locked in for November 19, 2026. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly confirmed that the game remains on track and will not face any further delays, ensuring fans that the November launch is secure.
For the PC games, though, Rockstar has yet to announce a release date. Looking at the previous track record of Rockstar Games, it is likely that the game will be released on the platform after 12-18 months. Previous hits like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, which were released on consoles first, were similarly released on PC.
