The Redmi 5A was launched as an online exclusive smartphone, however, the 3GB variant of the smartphone will now be available via physical stores across the country.

Xiaomi has announced that the 3GB variant of its latest smartphone, the Redmi 5A will now be available for purchase via offline channels priced at Rs 7,499. It was an online exclusive device till now and could only be bought via Mi.com and Flipkart. Xiaomi is expected to make the 2GB RAM/16GB ROM model available offline as well. The 3GB variant of the Redmi 5A costs Rs 6,999 when bought online. 

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 platform clocked at 1.4 GHz. It packs a 3000mAh battery which Xiaomi claims can last up to 8 days on standby and up to 7 hours of video playback. 

The Redmi 5A sports a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash, PDAF support and a f/2.2 aperture lens. It comes with a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The dual-SIM device runs on MIUI9 on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. 

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi 5A features Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G LTE. It’s internal storage can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card and has a separate third slot for it. The device comes in Elegant Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey colour models.

Amazon recently launched the 10.or D smartphone with its private label 10.or. The smartphone is priced starting at Rs 4,999 and competes with the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. You can read our spec comparison of both the smartphones here.
