Samsung has launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in India. The two devices are priced at Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 56,900 respectively and will be available from March 18. Pre-bookings for both devices start from today and will go on till March 17. Those who pre-book the phones will get a Samsung Gear VR headset for free. The two devices were unveiled just a few weeks ago at the Mobile World Congress event. 

Both devices come with a QHD display, however the standard Galaxy S7 has a 5.1-inch screen, while the S7 Edge has a 5.5-inch curved edge display. The two phones are powered by an Exynos 8890 Soc with 4GB of RAM, and have 32GB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. At the back is a 12MP Dual-Pixel camera with a f/1.7 aperture lens, while at the front is a wide-angle 5MP camera. Samsung claims that the Dual-Pixel technology lets in 56% more light as compared to its predecessor. The Galaxy S7 is equipped with a 3000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a larger 3600mAh battery. Both devices run Android Marshmallow v6.0 with TouchWiz UI and come with a fingerprint scanner located on the home button. The two phones are also waterproof and come with IP68 certification. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge also come with the company’s My Galaxy app that will offer exclusive privileges. User will be able to use the chat based assistant to book tickets, order flowers and more. They will also get pick and drop services and can also jump the queue for their service needs. In addition, Vodafone Red users on the two phones will enjoy double voice and data services.
