The phone goes head-to-head with Vivo V70 FE and Oppo Reno 16c, which were launched earlier this year and have a similar price tag. Under the hood, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip, and packs a 10,000 mAh battery with 100W charging support. Meanwhile, the Vivo V70 FE runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo chip, and has a 7,000 mAh battery with 90W charging support. The Reno 16c, on the other hand, sports a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, and is backed by a 7,000 mAh battery with 80W charging support.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max houses a dual camera setup on the back, which includes a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, there is a 32MP camera for selfies.
For comparison, the Vivo V70 FE comes with a 200MP main camera and an 8MP wide-angle camera. On the front, it houses a 50MP selfie camera.
