Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may be unveiled in August: Report
HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 9 earlier than expected due to multiple reasons, including low sales of the Galaxy S9

It seems like we may get to see the next Galaxy Note device from Samsung earlier than expected. According to a report by the Korea Herald, local parts manufacturers for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 smartphone have stated that the company is preparing to unveil its next smartphone earlier than previous year’s launches dues to multiple reason. This includes low sales of the Galaxy S9 smartphone. Display industry sources note that Samsung began production of 6.38-inch OLED displays for the Galaxy Note 9 in April, which is about 2 months earlier than before. As such, Samsung is likely to roll out the device as early as August, which is a month earlier than what it did for the Galaxy Note 8 last year.

The report also brings up rumours about Samsung planning to unveil the Galaxy S10 in January, possibly during CES 2019. It adds that the company might use the MWC 2019 event for unveiling its foldable smartphone.

This lines up with a previous report which also claimed that Samsung was planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in July or August. The same report noted that the Galaxy Note 9 would be powered by either the Snapdragon 845 or the Exynos 9810 depending on the region. The device is expected to sport a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 resolution. Further, the Galaxy Note 9 is also expected to feature a 4000mAh battery, which would be a huge jump from the 3,300mAh battery used on the Galaxy Note 8.
