Samsung has unveiled the 2016 variant of the Galaxy J2 smartphone, along with a Galaxy J Max smartphone. While the new Galaxy J2 is a budget smartphone, the Galaxy J Max is a phablet with a huge display. The two phones are priced at Rs. 9,750 and Rs. 13,400 respectively, and come with three months of double data offer in association with Airtel. The Galaxy J2 will be available from July 10, while the Galaxy J Max will be available from the end of this month.

Two of the most notable features of the Samsung Galaxy J2 is the Turbo Speed Technology (TST) and Smart Glow. The company claims that TST improves performance, and allows native apps to load up to 40 percent faster. Further, it also proactively shuts down idle apps running in the background. Smart Glow is a ring of LED lights around the rear camera, which act as notification light. Users will be able to select up to four alerts, and the colour of the lights can also be customised. The feature also alerts the user if they are running low on battery, internal memory or mobile data. Further, the phone also comes with S Bike and Ultra Data Saving modes.

The Galaxy J2 (2016) sports a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM. It features a 2600mAh battery pack and offers 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 128GB. The device is equipped with 8MP and 5MP cameras, and runs on Android Marshmallow.

The Samsung Galaxy J Max, meanwhile, features a huge 7-inch WXGA display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM. The phone sports a 4000mAh battery and runs on Android Lollipop. It is also equipped with 8MP and 2MP cameras, and supports VoLTE. Like the Galaxy J2 (2016), the J Max comes with S Bike and Ultra Data Saving modes. Further, those who purchase the Galaxy J Max will also receive a Samsung Bluetooth headset, as well as a one-year premium subscription to Viu, through which they will be able to access movies, TV shows and more.
