Redmi K20 gets Face Unlock feature with latest update.

The MIUI 10.3.8.0 update also brings customisable Lock screen clock styles.

Last month, Xiaomi’s spin-off brand Redmi launched the K20 and the K20 Pro smartphones in China and in just a gap of eight days, the Chinese company has rolled out an update to the Pro variant of the series. The MIUI 10.3.8.0 stable update, which is 392MB in size, brings the Face Unlock feature. Apart from this, the update also brings three customisable Lock screen clock styles and Wi-Fi list sorting by signal strength. This is probably the first major update that the phone has got since it launched.

Redmi will launch the flagship device in India on June 15. Manu Kumar Jain, Global Vice President and Director of Xiaomi India, took to social media to reveal the launch date of the Redmi K20 Pro. Jain called it “a big, big knockout” in a 30 second video on Twitter. Xiaomi is calling the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro, the “ultimate flagship killer”. The phone will compete with the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, Oppo Reno, Zenfone 6 (if launched) and the Black Shark 2 in the high-end segment.

Earlier, it was reported that the phone would launch as the Poco F2 in India, however, Jain started to tease the photo with its original name and shared some images of hoardings the company put at various places in the country. Not only that, those billboards were placed alongside the OnePlus 7 Pro ads with a neat wordplay taking a dig at the OnePlus 7 Series of phones.
