OnePlus has unveiled its Android 16-based software update, OxygenOS 16. The latest release marks a major visual and functional change for OnePlus devices, introducing a Material You 3.0-inspired Expressive UI, smoother animations, and smarter multitasking. Along with design refinements, OxygenOS 16 also brings AI-powered performance boosts and dynamic lock-screen updates, drawing on Google’s latest Android features.
SurveyOnePlus has confirmed that the update will be rolled out gradually, starting with the flagship lineup before expanding to older and mid-range models. Here’s everything you need to know about its features, rollout plan, and supported devices.
OxygenOS 16 rollout plan
The update will first arrive on the OnePlus 13 series, followed by the OnePlus 12, 11, and select Nord devices in the coming weeks. OnePlus has yet to share a detailed update roadmap. Still, early access builds are expected to roll out to beta testers soon after launch.
OxygenOS 16 new features
The highlight of OxygenOS 16 is its Expressive UI, a refreshed design inspired by Google’s Material You 3.0. Additionally, it also brings smoother transitions, fluid animations, and more consistent app behaviour across the system.
The new dynamic lock screen offers real-time updates from apps such as food delivery and e-commerce platforms, letting users track the status without unlocking their phone.
OxygenOS 16 also introduces AI-driven enhancements aimed at improving system intelligence, background optimisation, and user convenience, potentially including features like smart suggestions, better memory management, and adaptive task switching.
OxygenOS 16 eligible devices
The rollout will begin with the OnePlus 13, 13R, and 13s, followed by the OnePlus 12, 12R, 11 and 11R. Mid-range models such as the Nord 5, Nord 4, and Nord 3 are also slated to receive the update later in the cycle.

On the tablet side, OnePlus Pad 3, Pad 2, and Pad are reportedly eligible. Entry-level models like the Nord CE 4, CE 4 Lite, and Nord 3 may receive OxygenOS 16 as their final major software update.
