Google’s Nexus 5X has seen a price drop in India. the smartphone that launched for Rs. 31,900 is now available on e-commerce websites for Rs. 24,399 for the 16GB variant. The smartphone is available on Flipkart and Amazon apart from the Google play store.
The Nexus 5X which launched in India in October 2015 for Rs. 31,000 for the 16GB variant has seen a major price drop. On Flipkart, you can get the 16GB Nexus 5X for as low as Rs. 24,399 and the 32GB variant of the smartphone is priced at Rs. 29,898. On Amazon India, the Nexus 5X is priced at Rs. 24,476 for the 16GB variant and Rs. 29,950 for the 32GB variant. It must be noted that on the Google India online store, the Nexus 5X is selling for Rs. 31,900 for the 16GB variant Rs. 35,900 for the 32GB variant. It has only been a month since the launch of the Nexus 5X and the price of the smartphone has dropped.
Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, it has a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the device has a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with a quad-core 1.44GHz Cortex-A53 & dual-core 1.82GHz Cortex-A57 processor, along with 2GB of RAM. It also has the Adreno 418 GPU. The back of the Nexus 5X has a 12.3MP camera with a 1.55µm pixel size. A non-removable Li-Po 2700mAh battery powers the device.
With the new price cut, smartphones priced under Rs. 25,000 are in for some stiff competition from the Nexus 5X. I personally feel that the smartphone would be a great value for money proposition if the 32GB variant were priced under Rs. 25,000. No, it isn’t shatter proof, but iFixit, the masterminds behind tearing down smartphones gave the Nexus 5X a 7 out of 10 when it comes to repairability.
