Lenovo has started rolling out the Android Marshmallow update for the A7000 smartphone. The update is about 1359 MB in size and is available via an OTA update. The update would bring all the new features included with Marshmallow such as Doze, Google Now on Tap, improved app permissions, and more. The Doze feature should improve the battery life of the smartphone, while Google Now on Tap will introduced contextual search. Users can manually check for the update by going to Settings -> About Phone -> System Updates.
The Lenovo A7000 was launched a year ago, and was priced at Rs. 8,999. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6752m octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, and 2GB of RAM. The phone is equipped with a 2900mAh battery pack, and comes with 8GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 32GB. At the back of the phone is an 8MP camera, while at the front is a 5MP camera. Last month, Lenovo updated the K3 Note to Android Marshmallow. Besides the usual set of features introduced by the update, it also added support for TheatreMax. This will allow the smartphone to be used with Lenovo’s Ant VR headset.
