HP launches new HP Stream PCs and tablets in India

HP launched the new Stream 8 tablet in India, followed by a new mini-desktop PC and some other products.

HP has announced its new line of notebooks, tablets and desktops in the Indian market. The devices include the 11.6 inch HP Stream notebook, the HP Stream 8 and HP Slate 6 VoiceTab II tablets and a palm sized desktop known as the HP Pavillion Mini Desktop. While the notebook will be available at a starting price of Rs. 19,990, the tablets will be available for Rs. 16,990 and Rs. 15,990 respectively.

Further, HP is also offering 1TB of Microsoft OneDrive storage for one year along with the HP Stream notebook. You also get a free subscription to Office 365 for one year. The device has an 11.6 inch HD display with the Intel Celeron processor and 32GB of eMMC flash memory. The OneDrive storage space and Office 365 subscription is also available with HP’s Stream 8 tablet.

The VoiceTab II, on the other hand, is an Android 4.4 KitKat powered tablet, which has 16GB of internal storage that is expandable using a micro-SD card. It has a quad-core processor and has an 8MP rear camera.

The HP Pavillion Mini Desktop can support up to Intel Core i3 processors and also offers the OneDrive storage space and Office 365 subscriptions.

A NEW kind of notebook PC — HP Stream
The innovative HP Stream is a new kind of Windows notebook PC that provides unsurpassed value in a thin and light package, and includes value-added services with free cloud storage for instant access and sharing of content with 1TB of Microsoft OneDrive(1) for one year; Office 365(2) Personal for one year(2) to edit, share or collaborate in real-time.

The HP Pavilion Mini Desktop is ENERGY STAR certified, drawing up to 45 watts of power compared to 250 watts for a typical tower PC.  Built-in Wi-Fi(10) and Bluetooth allow customers to connect with Bluetooth accessories. With the decline use of optical DVD media in a more connected digital world, the HP Pavilion Mini Desktop does not include an optical drive.  External USB optical drive can be used through any of the four USB ports. The new products are expected to be available in India from January, 2015.
