Google search on mobile now shows site compatibility with device
Google Search on Android/iOS now flags Flash content in search results, saving clicks.
Google will now warn you when a page listed in its search results won’t display properly on your Android/iOS device. The Internet giant says that this will help cut down on wasted clicks.
Google says in a blog post that the change is meant to encourage web designers and developers to adopt widely supported browser technologies. This doesn't mean that Google will leave out those sites altogether in its search, or bar you in any way from visiting them but a lot of these sites might see a drop in traffic as a result.
Google announced in a blog post, "Starting today, we will indicate to searchers when our algorithms detect pages that may not work on their devices. For example, Adobe Flash is not supported on iOS devices or on Android versions 4.1 and higher, and a page whose contents are mostly Flash may be noted."
Google in its I/O developer event in June, introduced the “Material Design” guide. The internet giant is working on presenting a more controlled and tailored ecosystem to its users. Google has already updated its Google+ application as well as Google Sheets, Docs and Slides applications. According to reports Google’s Play Store will soon be getting the Material Design update soon as well.
Google has also started to flag “faulty redirects” indicating when search results are not optimized for your smartphone. Google stated in a blog post that its wants to "spare users the frustration of landing on irrelevant pages and help webmasters fix the faulty redirects."
