As Google prepares to unveil the Pixel phones later tonight, we have caught some information on when and how Google intends to sell the Pixel phones in India. Our sources have stated that the Pixel phones will sell online exclusively on Flipkart in India, along with select offline stores. Preorders for both the Pixel and Pixel XL expected to begin on October 13, and official confirmation regarding preorder dates and pricing are expected to be declared tomorrow, by Flipkart.

Since launching the Nexus One back in 2010, Google has partnered with multiple OEMs to make its Nexus devices every year, showcasing Android the way Google meant it to be. This year, though, Google seems to have made strategic shifts in its business, moving on from Nexus smartphones co-branded with manufacturers, to Pixel phones that will reportedly be only Google-branded.

We have also heard of Huawei being initially offered the contract to make the Pixel phones, but HTC has eventually bagged the rights. The smartphones will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoCs, and while the Pixel will reportedly have a 5-inch Full HD display, the Pixel XL may bring a 5.5-inch, 2K display. Each of the two Pixel phones may also house 12MP and 8MP cameras, and offer a minimum of 32GB storage.

We have also heard of Google’s Andromeda OS providing a common platform for mobiles and tablets by fusing Android and Chrome OS, and with last year’s launch of the Pixel C tablet, we cannot help but wonder if the Pixel moniker will be a bridge between Google’s hardware of varying forms. All eyes will be on Google, later tonight.

Buy Google Pixel from Amazon at Rs 57000.
