Discord down: The popular messaging platform Discord is currently experiencing a major outage. On Downdetector, an online outage monitoring service, more than 14,750 users in the US have reported issues with the platform. In India, there are around 70 reports so far. Most users, around 90 per cent, say they are facing issues with voice calling, while 8 per cent report issues with the app in general. Remaining reports are linked to messaging.
According to Downdetector, reports of the outage began appearing at around 09:00 AM. As expected, frustrated users head to X to share their experiences. While one user wrote, "discord voice channel down oh my god bruh," another posted, "discord calls are down so we moved to zoom."
On its status page, Discord has acknowledged the outage. "We are currently investigating this issue," the page reads. So, for now, Discord users will have to wait for the company to restore the service.
For those unfamiliar, Discord is a communication platform where users can connect through text messages, voice calls, video chats and media sharing. Users can have private conversations or join community spaces known as servers. The platform is especially popular among gamers and online communities.
