Apple Event 2026: iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and other key announcements

Alongside the new iPhones, Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.
Apple hosted its first major fall event under newly appointed CEO John Ternus last night. The ‘Surprise and Shine’ event brought several new products and software updates. The biggest announcement was Apple’s first foldable iPhone, called the iPhone Duo. The company also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with upgraded cameras. Alongside the new iPhones, Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5. Here are the key announcements from Apple’s event.

Apple has finally entered the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Duo. The phone has a 7.6-inch display when unfolded and a 5.4-inch outer screen. According to Apple, the phone’s design takes inspiration from the versatility of the iPad.
The iPhone Duo features a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultrawide camera with 2x optical zoom. Also, the foldable phone is said to offer up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner screen and up to 44 hours on the outer display.
The foldable iPhone starts at Rs 2,99,900 for the 256GB variant, while the top-end 2TB variant costs Rs 4,49,900.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple has kept the overall design of the new Pro models similar to their predecessors. However, the company has made major changes to the camera system. The new 48MP sensor features a variable aperture. Users also get more controls for photography, including shutter speed, aperture, white balance and a histogram.
Apple has also added new Photographic Styles with controls for texture and grain. The camera can record 4K video in Dolby Vision HDR Vision and lets users apply cinematic effects after recording.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4
The new Apple Watch models focus more on software than major hardware changes. A new Sound Recognition feature can identify sounds such as sirens, alarms, doorbells and a crying baby, offering helpful alerts for users who are hard of hearing.
Apple has also added new Audio Intelligence features, including Live Rewind, which can show the previous 15 seconds of a conversation as text. Meanwhile, Siri Recap is designed to help users remember important details from conversations.
The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at Rs 56,900, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at Rs 1,09,900.
AirPods 5
The AirPods 5 features better audio, improved active noise cancellation and more Siri and Apple Intelligence features. Apple says the new earbuds can reduce background noise by up to 50 per cent more than the previous generation. The earbuds also get volume controls on the stem and an improved Transparency mode.
AirPods 5 start at Rs 14,900, while the model with a Wireless Charging Case costs Rs 17,900.
Redesigned Health app
Apple also announced a redesigned Health app. It uses Apple Intelligence to make health information easier to understand. The app gets a new Insights tab with useful health information, personalised guidance and a new Readiness score. It now also offers a Health Age estimate and a Longevity tab that uses data from the iPhone and Apple Watch.
