Pre-orders for the same, along with other devices of the Zenfone 2 family, had begun in August 2015, and is now selling via Flipkart

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 is now available for purchase, for a price of Rs. 13,999. Pre-orders for the same had begun in the month of August, and is now available via online retailers, Flipkart. This iteration of the Asus Zenfone 2 features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 5.5-inch HD IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, dual-SIM and dual-Standby support, 4G LTE connectivity, 16GB of internal storage expandable by up to 128GB, and a 3000mAh battery.

The highlight feature of the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 is the 13-megapixel PixelMaster primary camera with a Toshiba T4K37 sensor and laser-assisted autofocus. It also features a 5-megapixel, f/2.0 front-facing camera with a wide angle lens that aids panorama selfies. As of now, the device is available on Flipkart in three colour variants – red, black, and white. At its launch, Asus had stated that all of its Zenfones will also be available via offlines channels, through its exclusive retail outlets, and other retailers.

Technically branded as Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL, this is possibly one of the best value propositions in the smartphone market today. The Zenfone 2 Laser series brings the most affordable laser-assisted autofocusing camera, and the cheapest iteration of this is priced at Rs. 9,999, making it possibly one of the best value-for-money devices within the sub-10k segment, and the entire market. Cashing in on the growth of Asus as a company in India, Asus recently launched the Zenfone Go, priced at Rs. 7,999.

Sold via Flipkart and other offline retail channels, the Asus Zenfone Go features a 5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 2070mAh battery, 8-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front camera for self-portraits. The Asus Zenfone Go came with 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB), and had dual-SIM support, albeit without 4G LTE connectivity.

Asus has already defined its serious intention behind the Indian smartphone market, by bringing in a number of smartphones with different configurations to suit various needs. Alongside providing good performance, one of the major reasons of its acceptance among Indian buyers is the art of good pricing, which Asus seems to have mastered. With the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 also priced very well, Asus reaffirmed its intent of being one of the majors in India.
