Apple iPhone Ultra launch delayed? Here is what new leaks suggest
The iPhone Ultra, aka the iPhone Fold, has been a bit controversial even before its official launch. While Apple has still not given us an actual first look, speculation about a delayed launch for Apple’s first foldable has been around for months. But a well-known leaker has now pushed back hard against all the said rumours and is insisting that the device is still on track for a September release date along with the iPhone 18 and 18 Pro lineup. Let’s take a deep dive into what he suggested.

Delay rumours explained
The confusion started back in March when a leaker suggested the foldable iPhone wouldn’t show up until December, well after Apple’s usual event in September. However, later, another leak came out suggesting that the device would be “a little bit delayed” compared to the iPhone 18 Pro line, hinting at an October release.
However, as per the leaker Fixed Focus Digital, all these launch reports of a major delay are “fake”. Their stance lines up with what they’d said back in April: that a same-day launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro is most likely, with a delay of a month at most if anything slips.
iPhone Ultra: Expected specifications

While speculation about the release date continues, the hardware picture for the foldable has been getting clearer. Leaks suggest a 5.5-inch front cover display paired with a roughly 7.8-inch inner screen. Leaks indicate a thickness of 9.5mm when closed and around 4.5 to 4.7mm when open, making it one of the slimmest foldables in the market.
Internally, Apple is expected to power the device with a new A20 Pro chip, which would be built on a 2nm process. Given the larger screen, the battery is also expected to receive a big bump to 5,500 to 5,800 mAh, making it the biggest battery on an iPhone to date.
In terms of optics, leaks suggest a dual rear setup, likely a wide and ultrawide, plus an under-display selfie camera on the inner screen and a punch-hole camera on the front. Touch ID could also make a comeback, built into the side power button rather than Face ID.
