Apple launches new Mac Mini and Mac Studio with M6 and M5 Ultra chips: Check price and specs

Apple has officially launched its new Mac Mini powered by the M6 chip, with an optional M5 Pro chipset for users looking for more power. Alongside the compact desktop, the Cupertino giant has also unveiled the next-generation Mac Studio, which comes with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chipset options. The new Macs are focused on delivering faster performance, stronger graphics and improved AI capabilities while keeping power use efficient. The M6 marks Apple’s first 2-nanometre chip and brings upgrades across the CPU, GPU and Neural Engine. Meanwhile, the M5 Ultra is aimed at professionals handling demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D work, scientific research and running large AI models directly on their Macs. The new Mac Mini has recently been launched with the all-new M6 chipset, which is built on a 2-nanometre process. Not only that but it also comes with a 12-core CPU with two super cores, four performance cores and six efficiency cores. Apple claims that the chipset can deliver 1.2 times faster multithreaded performance than the current generation M5 chipset and is up to 2.4 times faster when compared to the older M1 chipset.
The M6 Mac Mini also supports up to 32GB of unified memory and offers 170GB per second memory bandwidth. According to Apple, this configuration can run a good local AI model. For heavier work, the M5 Pro version supports up to 64GB of memory and adds Thunderbolt 5. Both models include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet.

Mac Studio: Specs
Aside from the Mac Mini, the company has also refreshed the Mac Studio lineup, as it’s now available with two new chipset options, which are the M5 Max and the new M5 Ultra. The M5 Ultra Soc uses a four-part chip design and comes with a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU. Moreover, it supports up to 512GB of unified memory and 1.2TB per second memory bandwidth, giving it the capacity to handle much larger AI models.
Apple also claims that the new M5 Ultra can deliver 30 per cent faster CPU performance, 80 per cent faster graphics and 4.5 times higher AI performance when compared with the M3 Ultra. The company also confirms that the users can now connect up to four Mac Studio systems through the Thunderbolt 5 port to form a cluster. When the devices are connected, Apple claims up to three times the performance of one machine.
Mac Mini and Mac Studio: India price
The Mac mini with the M6 chipset landed in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 99,900, while the students can grab it for just Rs 88,990. Whereas the Mac mini with M5 Pro starts at Rs 2,09,900, and with a student discount the price drops to Rs 1,97,900.
On the other hand, the Mac Studio with the M5 Max chipset costs around Rs 2,79,900, while with the student offer it can be bought for just Rs 2,56,900, and the Mac Studio with the M5 Ultra is priced at Rs 6,29,900, but with the student discount you can get it for just Rs 5,84,900.
