Furthermore, the new MacBook Pro may feature a centrally placed Dynamic Island-style cutout at the top of the screen, though it may be smaller than the version seen on recent iPhones. Apple is also making a responsive interface that adjusts based on touch interactions, surfacing contextual controls around selected elements and enlarging key buttons to improve usability.
Both the 14-inch and 16-inch variants are said to get OLED panels, a big shift from Mini LED panels. Despite adding touch support, Apple is believed to be focusing on maintaining the traditional Mac experience rather than turning the device into an iPad-like hybrid.
MacBook Pro release timeline:
The refreshed models are tipped to launch toward the end of 2026 and could debut with next-generation M6 Pro and M6 Max chips built on a 2nm process. This would follow a near-term update featuring M5 chips, suggesting Apple is planning consecutive upgrades to its flagship laptops.
