Do you know the Notes app on your partner’s iPhone can be used as a secret messaging app? People are reportedly using the Notes app to cheat on their partners. According to a wave of viral posts on TikTok and other social media platforms, some people are using it to message others secretly, even to cheat on their partners. The app’s collaboration feature lets users share a note with someone else and edit it together in real time. Originally designed for group projects, planning trips, or making grocery lists, it’s now being used as a private chat room that’s hidden in plain sight.
You can create a note, tap the share icon, and invite someone to collaborate. Once accepted, both people can type back and forth, send messages, even add images in real time – all inside that single shared note. There’s no “send” button, no notifications, and no message history in your phone’s messaging apps. Once the conversation is over, you can either delete the note or revoke access, and it will disappear completely, leaving no trace, no receipts.
This sneaky use of Notes has caught the attention of TikTok users and even private investigators. Many social media users have shared personal stories about discovering infidelity through shared notes, prompting a wave of awareness and suspicion online.
How to find out your partner is sharing a note with someone?
While all messages disappear once the conversation is over, the only giveaway is a tiny person icon next to the note title, indicating it has been shared.
Notably, the Notes app is primarily designed for jotting down reminders, planning events, or creating lists. However, like many other digital tools, it’s also being manipulated for wrong means.
