You could soon integrate files to ChatGPT from Google Drive: Detail here
OpenAI is possibly testing a new feature that allows ChatGPT to connect with users’ Google Drive.
You might be able to directly choose files from Google Drive to upload on ChatGPT.
OpenAI has yet to announce this feature officially.
OpenAI did something revolutionary with the announcements that it made during its recent event. With the launch of GPT4o, everyone was left awestruck, and that too for free! But it seems like OpenAI is on a roll, and is trying to take on its competitors. Reports reveal that OpenAI is possibly testing a new feature that allows ChatGPT to connect with users’ Google Drive. Read for details.
What is this new ChatGPT feature?
Apparently, ChatGPT is rolling out a new feature for its users. They will now be able to connect other apps to the platform. If you go to the file attachment menu, you will see an option called “Connect Apps”. This will then lead to a secondary page that prompts users to link their Google Drive and OneDrive accounts with ChatGPT.

How does it work?
Alright, so once a user has linked their Google Drive with ChatGPT, the file attachment menu on ChatGPT will show an option to “Add from Google Drive”. You can now directly choose files from Google Drive to upload on ChatGPT.
Who can access it?
OpenAI has yet to announce this feature officially. It looks like the company is currently testing this feature as it is not available for general users. Only a few paid-tier Enterprise users have been able to access this future. But hopefully, this feature will be rolled out for the masses soon.
Google recently announced a couple of new Gemini AI features for the Google Workspace app. One of these features also integrated Gemini AI into Google Drive. This feature does sound similar, but since it offers integration of both Google Drive and Microsoft’s OneDrive, it can have an edge. But do you think OpenAI is picking on Google with all these moves? First the event just before the I/O and now this. Let me know in the comments.
