HIGHLIGHTS
If you’ve used Siri on any Apple device in the last decade, you might be eligible for a payout of up to $100 (Rs 8,500). This comes after Apple agreed to a $95 million settlement to resolve a lawsuit over claims that Siri secretly recorded users’ private conversations.
The case, Lopez v. Apple Inc, was filed in December 2023. It accused Apple of allowing Siri to activate unintentionally and record personal conversations without consent. Some users even said they received ads related to things they only discussed privately, like medical treatments or brands they mentioned in casual chats.
While Apple denies doing anything wrong, the company has still agreed to settle the case to avoid a lengthy court battle.
