Your first step is to register your number with the FCC’s Do-Not-Call Registry. Once your number is on the list, telemarketers are not allowed to call you unless you have a prior relationship with them. If they persist, you can try filing a complaint with the FCC. Of course, I also would suggest simply not answering the phone if you do not recognize the phone number of the caller.
