Snapdeal issues statement after facing flak for Aamir Khan’s comments
Snapdeal said that the company has nothing to with comments made by Khan in his personal capacity.
E-commerce company Snapdeal has issued an official statement following flak from users, because of comments made by its brand ambassador Aamir Khan. According to Snapdeal, “Snapdeal is neither connected nor plays a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity. Snapdeal is a proud Indian company built by passionate young Indians focused on building an inclusive digital India. Everyday we are positively impacting thousands of small businesses and millions of consumers in India. We will continue towards our mission of creating one million successful online entrepreneurs in India.”
The actor has made comments about the ongoing debate on growing intolerance in India, and has been called up by many for saying that his wife doesn’t feel safe in India due to the growing intolerance. Interestingly, Flipkart’s Sachin Bansal has also taken to Twitter to support Snapdeal. Bansal tweeted,”This is a flawed logic. Brands don't buy into brand ambassadors personal opinions. @snapdeal shouldn't face this.”

Users on Twitter spoke against using Snapdeal with the hashtag #AppWapsi. In fact, some users even started posting negative reviews and giving one star ratings to the Snapdeal app on the Play Store. The reviews and ratings haven’t affected the app though, which still stands at a 4.1 rating. You can check the images below to get an idea of the reviews people are writing.
