Reliance JioMart online grocery shopping app has launched on Google Play Store and App App Store after the company’s recently concluded AGM (Annual General Meeting) that was held on July 15. JioMart is all set to take on online retail giants such as Amazon, Flipkart, Grofers and more and the service is currently live in over 200 cities. The JioMart Android app has been downloaded by over 100,000 users since it went live and on the Apple App Store, it is already the second-most-popular app in the shopping category.
On the heels of several big announcements by Reliance during its AGM such as the Google investment, Jio Glass and Jio 5G Solutions, JioMart enters India’s online grocery space that’s pegged to cross $3 Billion in sales this year. Announced back in December 2019, JioMart had a pilot launch earlier this year in many cities across India through its website and now the app has launched publicly for Android and iOS smartphones.
Reliance had earlier announced that it is collaborating with WhatsApp for JioMart to support small and medium businesses and Kirana store owners so that they can serve a wide area. This announcement came on the sidelines of Facebook’s $5.7 Billion investment into Jio Platforms which is expected to empower over 60 million micro and SMBs, 120 million farmers and 30 million small merchants.
During the AGM, it was revealed that JioMart already manages and delivers over 250,000 orders with plans to enter the electronics, apparel and other shopping categories in the coming months. One of the highlighting launch offers includes a flat 5 percent discount on MRP of all grocery and essential products. The service offers over 50,000 products and all deliveries are currently free. Customers can also avail cashback offers from Paytm, PhonePe, MobiKwik and more.
JioMart has gone live for Android and iOS smartphones and the online grocery shopping app is available on both Google and Apple app stores. You can download the app by opening the respective app stores, search for JioMart or you can head here to get the Android app or here for the iOS app.
Alternatively, the JioMart website is also live and is accepting orders from customers, covering a wide area already and is also expanding to more areas. Once downloaded, you need to register on the app by providing your phone number and by adding an address you will be able to start shopping on JioMart for groceries and other essential products.
