HP launches new devices, targets enterprise segment

The HP EliteBook 700 and 800 Series are available starting today. The starting price of HP EliteBook Folio 1020 is INR 90,000 onwards.

HP has launched its HP EliteBook Folio 1020 series, which it touts as the industry’s slimmest and lightest business-class notebooks. The HP EliteBook 1020 and the HP EliteBook 1020 Special Edition (SE) are ultra-thin at 15. 7 mm, and weighs about 1 kg.

The HP EliteBook 1020 and EliteBook 1020 SE are focussed on enterprise segment. The notebooks deliver up to 9 hours of battery life. HP says like the rest of the EliteBook family, the new netbooks are designed to pass military-grade (MIL-STD 810G) testing – drops, shocks, and exposure to extremes of temperature and humidity, and high pressure testing. These notebooks also deliver both speed and near silent operation with a fanless design and solid state storage, supported by latest Intel Core-M processor technology.

Both devices come with HP Client Management Solutions and optional LANDesk and Intel vProM technology. The notebooks include certified Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2/2.0i, pre-boot authentication, fingerprint reader and the HP Sure Start self-healing BIOS for device, data and identity protection.

The HP EliteBook 1020 with optional touchscreen and HP EliteBook 1020 SE feature 12.5-inch diagonal Quad HD (QHD) display. The notebooks feature 720p webcam, front firing speakers featuring HD Audio with DTS Studio Sound and HP Noise Reduction Software.

The starting price of HP EliteBook Folio 1020 is INR 90,000/- onwards.

HP overall launched eight new mobile devices today. It announced HP Pro Slate 8 and HP Pro Slate 12 – 8-inch and 12-inch – HD Android tablets. The tablets are powered by a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processor.

HP Elite x2 1011 G1 is a lightweight 11.6-inch diagonal 2-in-1 Windows device running Windows 8 Pro easily transforms from a tablet to a laptop with Ultrabook configurations available.

HP also launched an Intel Atom based HP Pro Tablet 10 EE running Windows and the HP Pro Slate 10 EE Android tablet, featuring IP-52 certification.

HP Pro Tablet 408 G1 is an affordable, 9 mm thin, 8-inch Intel Atom based business tablet with full Windows 8.1, micro-HDMI, up to 64 GB of storage and an 8 MP AF rear camera with flash and optional built in 3G Connectivity.

Other devices announced include HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare Tablet, HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Rugged Tablet and HP Retail Case for ElitePad.

HP is collaborating with leading independent software vendors (ISVs) in healthcare, field service and public safety industries, including Cerner, Intergraph and SAP, along with system integrators and service providers to deliver complete business solutions focused on mobility.
