ChatGPT down: OpenAI’s popular AI chatbot is facing disruptions as thousands of user complain about the accessibility to the platform. While accessing the chatbot, the users are witnessing a Bad Gateway error. The error states, “The web server reported a bad gateway error.” As per the reports, the error means that there is a problem with a website’s server communication. However, OpenAI has not acknowledged the outage at the moment.

According to Downdetector, the real-time outage detecting platform, over 87 percent of the users complained about the ChatGPT not working while 12 percent complained about the website. The outage peaked at 5.30 PM with over 4,000 users reporting the problems. Not only that, the Downdetector also shows that regions like the US, UK among others were also affected.

While the exact reason behind the outage remains unknown, it seems to be a server issue. We are now able to access the chatbot. However, it remains to be seen if OpenAI will acknowledge the outage or not.

On the other hand, the users have moved to social media platforms to complain about the ChatGPT not working. Some of them have even found humour in the situation and shared memes, opinions, trolls for ChatGPT and CEO Sam Altman. Here are some of them:

Interestingly, this is not the first time the chatbot has witnessed a massive outage. Last month, the AI platform witnessed a similar outage showing the similar error. It happened during the early hours of December 12. The outage affected millions of users including those residing in the US, UK, Canada and India.
