2027 will be a milestone year for Apple, marking 20 years since the launch of the first iPhone. In that year, the tech giant is expected to launch a foldable iPhone that has a nearly invisible crease. Later that year, Apple is also expected to release a mostly glass, curved iPhone with no display cutouts, according to Bloomberg. This would be a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the iPhone X, which first introduced Apple’s all-screen design.
Another big step forward is Apple’s rumoured smart glasses. The company is said to be working on a special chip just for this product, with plans to release it in 2027. The glasses will function similarly to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses but with Apple’s design and tech strengths. They will use cameras and AI to understand the environment around the user. Furthermore, Apple is likely working on upgrades to AirPods and Apple Watch, both of which could get built-in cameras by 2027.
On the software side, Apple is reportedly planning to power up Siri by using large language models. This should make Siri more conversational. Lastly, Apple is also likely planning to launch robots. One of the concepts is a tabletop robot with a robotic arm.
