The X5 Alteron controller comes with Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity. It supports Android and iOS devices, including bigger devices like the iPad. But it’s not limited to there, as it even supports the Nintendo Switch ecosystem, it will work with both the Switch 1 and the latest Switch 2. Users will also be able to use it with their PCs and Laptops, given they support Bluetooth.

The main highlight of this controller is that it supports different modules, making it highly customisable. Given the modular design, the controller is being targeted towards both retro and modern gamers. The companies say that their controller has been made in such a way that it can adapt to practically any gaming genre or style of play, depending on the user.

Key features of the X5 Alteron modular controller

The X5 Alteron comes with capacitive sticks to avoid any sort of stick drift, and along with that, it even brings mouse clicks and hall effect triggers. The ABXY buttons are all hot swappable, along with the D-Pad, which can be adjusted. Input options are not limited to, as it even comes with back buttons, which will be customisable based on the game you’re playing.

The controller supports many different layouts, including a twin stick layout, like the PlayStation-style controllers. A top twin stick layout, for those more familiar with the Xbox-style controllers. Along with that, it even brings an asymmetrical layout, an X Input Button Layout, and even a Switch input button layout, made for the Nintendo gamers!

The different modules the controller supports include the GameCube module, which will be Ideal for emulation and Nintendo Switch Online games. Along with a module made to replicate the iconic Nintendo 64. A fight pad module, and even a track pad module, which the companies say will be a great pick for FPS titles or any operations that require a mouse.

Hyperkin and Gamesir have started showcasing this modular controller at their booths over at CES 2026, and visitors can experience it too. However, the two companies have yet to confirm the pricing or the release date for this unique offering.
