Flickr finally catches up with Facebook, Dropbox with auto-upload feature.
Flickr rolls out “auto-upload” option that automatically uploads all the photos from your Camera Roll to Flickr’s service. The images are uploaded automatically starting with 25 of the most recent photos in full resolution. The photos are set to “private” until the users changes the settings to share them with others.
Flickr is also offering 1 TB of free cloud storage per account for users which gives you ample space for all your images, etc. The update also brings some bug fixes for Google sign-in, and an auto photo editor to straighten modify photos in the app. The Auto Upload feature works over a cellular or Wi-Fi network by default. Users can also set Wi-Fi only setting in the app.
Markus Spiering, head of product at Flickr stated, Auto-straightening “works like magic when your photo is just a little bit off.”
This new update brings the Flickr app up to Facebook, Dropbox, and Google Photos, all of which have auto-upload functionality on iOS. The new Flickr iOS app update can be downloaded for the iTunes store and is meant for iOS 7 or higher.
Earlier this year Flickr had rolled out a new look, UI and 1 TB free storage for users. The popular photo sharing site has added some new features like how the photographs are displayed. Flickr now showcases your best works in a big bold boxes instead of tiny squares. The new image display system allows the user to click on an image will open it up in a large resolution format optimized for your screen.
