CMF Phone 2 Pro vs Vivo T4: It all depends on what you value!

CMF Phone 2 Pro vs Vivo T4: It all depends on what you value!

Not too long ago, buying a phone around a budget of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 meant settling for compromises: basic specs, okay-ish displays, and average performance. However, now in 2025, that’s no longer the case. Budget phones have seriously leveled up, especially the ones around Rs 20,000. Some of them now pack features that were once reserved for premium mid-rangers. And today, we’re putting two of those budget smartphones head-to-head: CMF Phone 2 Pro vs Vivo T4. Both are making noise in the Rs 20K segment, but which one’s actually worth your money? That’s what you’ll find out by the end of this comparison!

CMF Phone 2 Pro vs Vivo T4 Build: Style VS Strength

Kicking things off with design and let’s be real, CMF wins this round when it comes to looks, HANDS DOWN. It’s bold, fresh, and just oozes personality with its bright color options and modular accessories. It’s fun, playful, meant to grab attention, and it definitely succeeds.

The Vivo T4 on the other hand? It plays it safe. This one comes with lean lines, minimal design, which is also a thing for most people, but there’s nothing memorable either unlike the CMF Phone 2 Pro.

When it comes to durability, though, Vivo claws back the win. It has an IP65 rating and Diamon Shield Glass up front, making it more resistant to the elements. CMF isn’t too far behind with IP54 and Panda Glass, but Vivo edges ahead on toughness by a small margin.

In-hand feel? There isn’t much to compare here as both smartphones feel nice, but the CMF Phone 2 Pro is slightly lighter (185g) than the Vivo T4 (199g), which might appeal to some users. However, the weight and thickness of the Vivo T4 are still impressive, considering it packs a 7,300mAh battery.

Vibrant Display Or Accuracy?

Both phones are equipped with 6.77-inch AMOLED panels that support 120Hz refresh rates, but there are differences worth noting.

If we talk about on-paper specifications, CMF goes for a flat display with 3000 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support. Vivo counters have a quad-curved panel, claimed 5000 nits peak brightness, and slimmer bezels. But what happens when they are being tested in real-world and technical scenarios?

While both phones peak around 2200 nits, based on tests, so brightness isn’t a major differentiator. However, CMF’s display feels slightly more vibrant and saturated when watching content.

Calman Data

That said, Vivo wins on accuracy. According to Calman tests, it has a delta E of 0.9, which is excellent for colour-critical work. On the other hand, the CMF Phone 2 Pro scored a delta E of 1.5, which is still good, just not as precise. Vivo’s greyscale accuracy is also better.

Vivo T4 Edges Out CMF Phone 2 Pro In Performance…..But

Now it’s time to talk raw power of these smartphones. The CMF Phone 2 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro, while the Vivo T4 packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, which is a newer and more capable chip. And it shows.

On AnTuTu, the Vivo T4 scores around 7,95,640 (almost 8 lakh points), while the CMF Phone 2 Pro hits just under 7,00,000 points (6,98,906 to be more precise). Moreover, Geekbench scores also follow the same pattern.

CPU Throttling

After that, we also ran a 15-minute stress test on both smartphones. In this test, Vivo didn’t throttle once in 15 minutes, keeping performance consistent throughout. Although CMF also performed well, it was not at the same level.

Now here’s a twist: Gaming is where CMF makes a comeback. While Vivo sticks to 60 FPS gameplay, CMF promises 120 FPS gameplay in BGMI. But unfortunately, it doesn’t constantly maintain that. CMF averages around 80 FPS in BGMI, which is still better than Vivo’s cap, but much less than what it claims.

BGMI Test

Still, overall, I’d give the performance round to Vivo, as it is more powerful, handles thermals better, and actually delivers on its claims.

CMF Makes A Comeback On The Software Front

Well, Vivo sure has more horsepower, but we all know how clean and aesthetic CMF’s software is. It runs Nothing OS 3, which is just a joy to use. It is a clean UI, no ads, as well as zero bloat. If you like your vibe is more Gen-Z, minimal, and everything should feel fast too, the CMF Phone 2 Pro delivers that.

The Vivo T4, on the other hand, ships with Funtouch OS 15, which is… well, better than before, but still not as clean. There’s some bloat, and while it’s functional, it doesn’t match the polish of CMF’s software.

CMF Phone 2 Pro vs Vivo T4: Cameras

For photography, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. On the Vivo T4, you get a dual camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Now, if we talk about camera samples, CMF produces better photos overall in daylight. It captures more detail, better colors, and sharper images. But, Vivo leans warmer and sometimes smooths out the details too much.

But when it comes to portrait mode, Vivo actually pulls ahead. It captures more accurate skin tones, much better depth, and a more pleasing overall aesthetic.

Battery Life: No Comparison

Now, this is an interesting parameter. Let me quickly give you a rundown of specifications:

  • CMF Phone 2 Pro: 5000mAh + 33W charging
  • Vivo T4: 7300mAh + 90W charging

As you can see, there’s a vast difference between both smartphones’ battery capacities. Yes, Vivo has a tablet-sized battery inside a phone. It easily lasts two full days of normal to heavy use. And if we talk about the CMF Phone 2 Pro, it can comfortably go through a day, but not much more.

Furthermore, Vivo T4’s 90W charger fills the battery in under 45 minutes, and CMF takes over an hour to charge from 0-100% with its 33W charger.

CMF Phone 2 Pro vs Vivo T4: Which One’s For You?

Get the CMF Phone 2 Pro if you want:

  • A standout design with accessories
  • Clean, ad-free software
  • Bright and vibrant display
  • Slight edge in gaming performance

But choose the Vivo T4 if you care about:

  • Raw performance and smooth multitasking
  • Massive battery and fast charging
  • Better portrait shots
  • Rugged and more durable build

es, the Vivo T4 (₹21,999) is slightly more expensive, but once you factor in CMF’s accessories like the universal cover, cardholder, and interchangeable lenses, the price gap pretty much vanishes.
