5 things you should know about the HTC 10
HIGHLIGHTS

The HTC 10 is expected to house Snapdragon 820, a 4K-capable camera, and the best iteration of BoomSound Speakers yet.

HTC is all set to announce its next flagship smartphone later tonight, and the company might drop the ‘M’ from its name as the phone is expected to be named HTC 10. Almost everything about the phone has been leaked, like the design and the processor. HTC has been keeping themselves busy by teasing the new camera, which the company is claiming will be world class. However, a lot of important things are still under wraps, and we will be covering them shortly as HTC announces the phone. Till then, here is a quick look at the HTC 10, and what are the important features that it may sport.

LCD 5
The display of the HTC 10 has been a matter of much debate. Latest speculations point towards a 5.15-inch, LCD 5 panel with 2560×1440-pixel resolution. Earlier, it was a rumoured that the phone might have an AMOLED display, which seems quite possible, considering AMOLED displays are lighter on the battery.

Return of the (Snap)Dragon
The new phone is expected to sport a Snapdragon 820 SoC, unlike the last HTC flagship (One M9 Plus) that featured a MediaTek SoC. The Snapdragon 820 SoC is the latest from Qualcomm, and almost all major smartphone manufacturers are unveiling flagship smartphones with this SoC. Rumours also suggest that HTC may introduce a less powerful variant of the smartphone, which would be powered by the Snapdragon 652 SoC.

World Class Camera
HTC has been teasing about the new cameras for quite some time now. The company recently tweeted “World First, World Class, Front and Back. You’ll see. #powerof10”. From rumours, we believe that the phone will be sporting a 12MP rear camera with dual-tone flash. The camera is likely to feature OIS, 4K recording and laser-assisted autofocus. The front-facing camera is rumoured to be a 5MP one.

Better BoomSound
HTC will be bringing back the BoomSound speakers on the HTC 10, and this time, the company is touting that it will have the 'Best BoomSound Speakers Yet'. HTC teased high fidelity music playback, on the go.

Old but refined design
The best part about flagship HTC phones was its design, and from the renders and leaks that we have seen so far, it is unlikely that HTC will be changing that. Yes, we can expect a more refined design, better overall grip and slightly different look, but be rest assured that it will have a metal build and chamfered edges running around.
