Claude defects: 3 things it can’t do versus ChatGPT and Gemini
Claude can’t check real-time information, so recent news or updates may be outdated.
It mainly works with text and can’t create images or videos.
It doesn’t connect well with everyday apps, making tasks less smooth.
Claude is an AI tool that often receives praise for its calm tone, strong writing ability, and thoughtful answers. Moreover, it is especially good at long-form content, summaries, and safe responses that avoid harmful output. Many users rely on it for its technical capabilities, like generating code or finding bugs. As AI tools are growing quickly, people now expect more from them. They want one assistant that can do everything, like live search, creative work, and smooth app integration. This is where Claude starts to fall behind, as when compared to ChatGPT and Gemini, Claude is still missing a few important features that many users now expect. Here are some areas where Claude seems weaker than its competitors.
Survey1. Real-time internet browsing
Claude AI can’t browse the internet in real-time, which also comes up as one of its major limitations. Although the AI software can handle most questions based on its current data set, it has a difficult time handling questions about up-to-date information.
For example, if you ask about the latest news, stock prices, or something happening right now, the answer might be outdated or incomplete. That means you may need to check another source to be sure.
However, applications such as ChatGPT and Gemini have an edge when it comes to gathering relevant data from the internet. They can combine the latest updates, check if the information is correct, and give fresh answers.
So, if you ask about recent things like a new phone launch or breaking news, ChatGPT and Gemini will usually give up-to-date and accurate answers, while Claude might need extra checking.

2. Image and video generation
Another thing that I feel that Claude lacks is that the AI tool is not strong when it comes to creating things beyond text. Unlike its competitors like Gemini or ChatGPT, it cannot generate images or videos on its own. As a result of that, it feels a bit limited if I want both written content and visuals in one place.
For example, when I am working on a presentation, I can’t ask Claude to create an image or suggest a visual idea and will have to open another tool to do that. However, with ChatGPT or Gemini, I can do it within one tool.

3. Ecosystem integration
I also feel that Claude is a bit limited when it comes to connecting with other tools. It mostly works on its own and does not link deeply with popular apps and services.
Gemini feels more useful in this area because it is closely connected with Google tools. It can work with Gmail, Google Docs, Drive, and other apps, which makes everyday tasks much easier. In the same way, ChatGPT is also growing by adding plugins, apps, and other helpful tools.
Claude is hard to connect with my daily tools like emails and cloud storage. Because of this, it doesn’t feel smooth or well-connected when I use it for everyday tasks.
For professionals who rely on multiple apps throughout the day, integration is a major factor. Tools that fit smoothly into daily workflows save time and effort. Claude still has room to grow in this area.
