Nine operators form new Partnering Operator Alliance

The Alliance, which includes Reliance Jio, aims to allow partners to bring products and services to people around the world

Nine operators have come together to form a new Partnering Operator Alliance. Members of the Alliance include Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, BT, Deutsche Telekom, Millicom, MTS, Orange, Rogers, TeliaSonera, and TIM. According to a press statement, the aim of the alliance is to allow partner businesses to introduce products and services to people from around the world. In addition, it will allow partner businesses with the “potential to tap into market opportunity of one billion customers in more than 80 countries around the globe.” It also states that the Alliance is focusing on bringing partner propositions to the market and will exchange knowledge about upcoming trends and services amongst the group. 

Rainer Deutschmann, Chief Product and Innovation Officer of Reliance Jio Infocom Limited commented, “Jio is set to enable each Indian to live a digital life. To this end, we have built the globally largest green-field 4G and fiber network, as well as a suite of digital services that enable entertainment, cloud, payment, and much more. We invite the best partners to work with us to co-create a Digital India.”

The Alliance has already established relationships with 30 innovative partner businesses like, AirBnB, Spotify, Celltick, Disconnect, Idoomoo, Magisto, and Mojio. It has also stated that it will be expanding to additional operators soon.
