Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 tops AnTuTu’s list of most popular phones in India

Popular benchmarking website AnTuTu has revealed its list of the ten most popular smartphones in India for the first half of 2016. According to the list, devices from Chinese manufacturers are the most popular in the country with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 topping the chart with 12.45%. At number two in the list is the OnePlus 2, followed by the LeEco Le 1S. Completing the top five is an unspecified OnePlus device and the Lenovo K3 Note respectively. 

Devices from other manufacturers that were present on the list included Motorola. It's Moto X Play, which took the seventh spot. Samsung only had one representative in the list in the form of the Galaxy J7, which was placed at the ninth spot. At number ten was Google’s current flagship, the Nexus 6P.

AnTuTu noted that India was the first landing point for Chinese brands that wanted to expand their presence overseas. The company also said that domestic brands were also very strong in the country.

Besides India, the company also revealed the list of the ten most popular smartphones in the world for the first half of the year. Samsung dominated this list by taking the top four spots, with the Galaxy Note 5 topping the list. Samsung could have taken all the top five spots if it wasn't for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which was slotted between the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge at the fifth sport.
