On a question regarding the existence of the phablet on Weibo, a Xiaomi representative confirmed that there is no device with “Mi Max 3 Pro” name.
Rumours about Xiaomi's Mi Max 3 Pro phablet, a supposed powerful variant of the existing Mi Max 3, have been circulating since a while now. The phone has also been listed on the website of Chinese retailer JingDong. Just a few days ago the Mi Max 3 Pro was spotted on Qualcomm’s website under a column that enumerates phones powered by the Snapdragon 710 chip. While these clues imply the phone is in the making, Xiaomi has denied the existence of the phone saying that there is no phone with such a name and and a Snapdragon 710 processor.
The news comes from Weibo, where a Xiaomi executive replied to question asking if there is no Mi Max 3 Pro in the making. The company executive replied to this saying “yes”.
When it comes to the specs, Mi Max 3 Pro is said to sport a powerful processor, more RAM and more battery compared to the Mi Max 3, which was launched earlier this month. The Mi Max 3 features a 6.9-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. On the back, it has vertically stacked dual-camera setup with a 12MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture, and a 5MP lens. One the front, there is an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The phablet is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and houses a 5,500mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI on top, has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports face unlock as well. The company launched the device in two variants: the 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage model.
