Vivo is gearing up for its next foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 5. The company has officially teased the smartphone via a Chinese social media site, Weibo, giving a sneak peek of the design. The handset is said to be the thinnest foldable. Although the launch date and other details have been kept under wraps, the device is expected to debut soon in China. Additionally, we also have some of the key specifications, including display, battery and processor, thanks to rumours and reports. However, there are no words on its India arrival yet.

Vivo X Fold 5 design teased
Han Bo Xiao, Vivo’s Product Manager, has dropped a teaser video of the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5. The 16-second video claims that Vivo X Fold 5 will debut as the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone, outdoing the Vivo X Fold 3, which weighs 219 grams. Though the video doesn’t reveal the exact weight of the device, early leaks suggest that it may weigh 209 grams and measure 4.3mm when unfolded. Additionally, the handset is tipped to have a thickness of 9.33mm when folded.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 weighs 239 grams and measures 12.2mm when folded and 5.6mm when unfolded, while the Oppo Find N5 weighs 229 grams and has a thickness of 4.21mm when unfolded.
Vivo X Fold 5 specifications (expected)
The Vivo X Fold 5 is tipped to feature an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED screen and a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover display. It is likely to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The handset may ship a triple rear camera unit comprising three 50-megapixel sensors.
For selfies and video chats, the Vivo X Fold 5 could house dual 32-megapixel sensors on the inner and outer screens. Plus, the device is also speculated to sport a three-stage Alert Slider. Other leaked details include a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging.

Vivo X Fold 5 price (expected)
The upcoming Vivo X Fold 5 could be cheaper than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, which debuted at CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 1,16,000) for the 16GB + 512GB configuration.
