Last week, at a grand event, Vivo launched its new Vivo 7+ in India and the phone is going on sale today at Rs 21,900 on through various retail avenues, including Flipkart and Amazon. Like all previous Vivo devices, the V7+ is also a selfie centric phone and carries a 24MP front facing camera. The camera has a beautify features and is accompanied by a front facing flash, which Vivo calls Face Beauty 7.0 and moonlight flash respectively. The phone has a large 5.99-inch display, which like the LG Q6, has a 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels are also minimised and thus the V7+ boasts an 84.4 percent screen to body ratio.
The Vivo V7+ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 450 used here is a relatively new SoC from Qualcomm and claims to offer 25 percent more performance than its previous iteration. The chipset is manufactured using the 14nm FinFet architecture, which Qualcomm claims translates into improved battery life and better graphics performance. While the Vivo V7+ gets a bump in the megapixel count of the front facing camera compared to the 20MP on the V5 Plus, it uses a similar 16MP rear camera at the back. Moreover, the 5.99-inch display only has a 720p resolution compared to a 1080p one on the V5 Plus.
The other big feature on the phone is that it has a proprietary AK4376 chipset for Hi-Fi audio support. The device runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, which is layered under Vivo’s FunTouch OS 3.2. It is backed by a 3225mAh battery which is non-removable as the phone has a metal unibody build. The phone is available in black or gold variant.
