Samsung has launched its next Fan Edition smartphone – Galaxy S25 FE, officially unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked. The new model has received some significant upgrades over last year’s S24 FE. With a brighter screen, bigger battery, faster charging, and a performance bump, the handset is a notable upgrade over its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE vs Galaxy S24 FE: Design and display 

At first glance, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE may look like déjà vu with flat sides, rounded corners, and a rear camera setup. But the device does have some subtle enhancements likely to elevate the feel. The newly launched device is thinner, with 7.4 mm as compared to the 8.0 mm thickness of the Galaxy S24 FE. It is also noticeably lighter at 190 g. Additionally, it has an Armour Aluminium frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for improved durability. Like its predecessor, the S25 FE maintains IP68 protection against dust and water 

In terms of display, the Galaxy S25 FE retains the same 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, with Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, as the Galaxy S24 FE. However, the device comes with Samsung’s Vision Booster to enhance visibility.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 FE is powered by the full-fledged Exynos 2400 chip, an upgrade from the down-clocked “2400e” in the S24 FE. Additionally, it packs 8GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage.

Out of the box, the S25 FE runs Android 16 with Samsung’s latest One UI 8. Apart from these, the handset also packs Galaxy AI tools like Gemini Live, Circle to Search, and Creator-focused tools like Generative Edit, Sketch to Image, Instant Slow-Mo, and an upgraded Audio Eraser. Further, the Circle to Search for gameplay, which was first seen on Samsung’s latest generation of foldables- Fold 7 and Flip 7, arrives here too.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE vs Galaxy S24 FE: Camera 

In terms of camera, the rear camera hardware remains unchanged with a 50 MP main shooter with OIS, 12 MP ultra-wide, and 8 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. However, the device borrows Samsung’s ProVisual and Object-Aware engines from the S25 line with 8K30 FPS video support. On the front, it features an upgraded 12 MP sensor with autofocus for selfies and video calls, surpassing the 10 MP selfie camera of the Galaxy S24 FE. 

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE vs Galaxy S24 FE: Battery and charging 

Battery and charging are one of the S25 FE’s most tangible upgrades. The battery capacity jumps from 4,700 mAh to 4,900 mAh, offering noticeably better battery life. Further, Samsung has almost doubled wired charging to 45 W, compared to the S24 FE’s modest 25 W. Wireless charging remains 15 W.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy S25 FE comes with a similar price tag as the Galaxy S24 FE launch price. The handset is launched at a starting price of $650 (roughly Rs 60,000), similar to the S24 FE launch pricing. However, India’s pricing is yet to be announced.
