The test results suggest that the Galaxy S24 series didn’t do well when dropped. The Samsung Galaxy S24 model– made with similar materials to the Galaxy S23 smartphone– suffered similar damage as the Galaxy S23 but became unusable after just one front down drop. The Galaxy S24 Plus also became unusable after drops from both the front and back.
Speaking to the Ultra model, the S24 Ultra boasts a new titanium frame and upgraded cover materials compared to its predecessor. However, it shattered after just one drop from both the front and back.
In contrast, last year, the S23 series was dropped twice from a height of six feet, both from the front and back. While the S23 became unusable after one face-down drop, the S23 Plus and Ultra survived. Particularly, the S23 Ultra faced only some damage to the display and cameras.
Based on the results, it seems that this year’s Galaxy S handsets might be somewhat more fragile compared to the previous generation. So, it is advised to use a good-quality phone case.
