Realme 5 will be priced under Rs 10,000.

It could sport a quad camera setup.

It is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 655 chipset.

Realme is all set to launch the Realme 5 series smartphones in India on August 20. Ahead of the official announcement, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth teased the features of the upcoming smartphones. After the confirmation that the Realme 5 will come packed with a 5,000mAh battery, which is touted to deliver “Unprecedented Battery Life", it is now confirmed that the phone will be priced under Rs 10,000.

The Realme 5 is supposed to be India’s first quad camera smartphone under Rs 10,000. Sheth took it to Twitter to mention “Some achievements on our (Realme’s) technology journey.” The caption of the tweet included:

A. 1st to bring 48MP Quad camera smartphone in India
B. World’s 1st Quad camera smartphone under 10k 1st in India
C. Powerful Qualcomm chipset 1st time ever launching in India

Realme 5 is confirmed to feature a quad camera setup. The Realme 5 Pro is also supposed to feature a quad camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor as its primary camera module on the rear. Earlier, a dedicated microsite of the handset on Flipkart had confirmed the presence of an ultra-wide lens with a 119-degree field of view, a Super Macro lens with a 4cm microscopic focal length and a fourth lens that would assist in capturing portrait images.

Moreover, the tweet mentions “a powerful Qualcomm chipset 1st time ever launching in India,” which means it could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. The smartphone was first spotted on Geekbench with the same chipset. The listing hinted at a 4GB RAM variant of the phone. Reportedly, the Realme 5 managed to score 1525 points in Geekbench’s single-core tests, and 5948 in the multi-core tests.

The Realme 5 Pro is rumoured to come with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 fast charging, similar to the Realme 3 Pro. We should know more details about the devices in the coming days.
