OnePlus 7 Pro to get support for customising Horizon Light feature.

Users may soon be able shoot videos from ultra-wide camera on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus is also working on a few more user requested features in the OxygenOS.

During the launch events, OnePlus usually says that it listens to its customers to make a feature-ful phone. Two years ago, the company started the Open Ears Forum – a platform where the company directly engages with the community to seek their feedback. The next one will be held on July 20 in Amsterdam, and before hosting the meeting, OnePlus has released a list of top ranked features that the users have requested so far. These features are not limited to the OnePlus 7 Pro but expands to all the Oxygen OS versions running on different phones.

One of the most prominent features is the Horizon Light. The company says that OnePlus 7 Pro users have complained of not having a notification light on their devices. To solve this purpose, OnePlus included the Horizon Light feature in which the edges of the display light up so that users can be alerted if there’s a notification. The same feature called Edge Lighting is being used in Samsung phones since long, and it comes with customisation support. OnePlus says that users are asking for the same customisation support in the OnePlus 7 Pro and that the company is now working to implement it. The company is also looking into other alternatives to “implement AOD in a battery-friendly way.”

OnePlus says that it has already approved users’ request to enable video recording through the wide-angle lens on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and the feature is currently under development. “We know how anxious you are for this feature and we hear you,” the company said on the OnePlus Forum. Phones like Samsung Galaxy S10+ and LG V40 ThinQ allow users to shoot videos from the wide-angle lens.

People have also requested to add customisation support to the Zen Mode, and OnePlus says it is already working on it. The Zen Mode was launched in the OnePlus 7 Pro and later the company announced that it would trickle down this feature to phones from OnePlus 5 and above. It even included the mode in the latest beta for all these devices. The feature helps users to stay away from their phone for a limited amount of time.

When turned on, the user won’t get any notifications, calls, or messages for 20 minutes straight, and there is no turning back. Even if you restart the phone), you cannot come out of the mode for 20 minutes. With an option to customise the time in the feature will probably help people prolong the time duration of the Zen Mode.

Other features include — support for adaptive icons using the OnePlus launcher in the OS, ability to see more apps when accessing the recent apps menu, addition of charging sound effect and inclusion of Digital Wellbeing feature in supported OnePlus devices. OnePlus says that it is either already working on these features, or will work on them. You can visit this link to read the complete list of the features that the company is working on.
