New Nokia phones to launch at IFA 2019, HMD confirms

Nokia Mobile, on Twitter has announced the launch of new smartphones during IFA 2019.

HMD Global will host an event on September 5.

Nokia 7.2, Nokia 6.2, Nokia 5.2, and a 4G LTE version of the Nokia 2720 could be launched at the event.

IFA 2019 is about 2 weeks away, and it promises to kick off the phone season for the second half of 2019. However, it looks like HMD Global will be hosting a pre-IFA 2019 event on September 5 in Berlin. This is the company's first ever IFA presence, and it is rumoured to launch new phones at the event.

Nokia Mobile took to Twitter to announce that “brand new members” are “coming soon" on stage in Berlin. The post also includes a 15-second video, which shows shows silhouettes of various already released Nokia phones.

HMD Global will be hosting an event on September 5 at 4pm local time. The company is expected to launch devices like the Nokia 7.2, the Nokia 6.2, the Nokia 5.2, and a 4G LTE version of the Nokia 2720.

The Nokia 7.2 is expected to be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.84GHz and it might be paired with 6GB RAM. If rumours are to be believed, the processor could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon  660 or the Snapdragon 710.

Previously, the Nokia 7.2 was reportedly spotted on Geekbench. It managed to score a single-core score of 1604 and multi-core score of 5821 in Geekbench's tests. It was listed to be running on Android 9 Pie. 

The Nokia 7.2 is expected to feature a 6.18-inch 18.7:9 IPS LCD display with a 2340×1080p resolution and HDR 10 support. On the back, the phone is said to come equipped with a 48MP camera. It could be backed by a 3500mAh battery with support for Qualcomm quick charge. 

As for the Nokia 6.2, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset. It might also be announced with 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. It could feature a 6.18-inch 18.7:9 IPS LCD display with a 2340×1080p resolution. It might also sport a 48MP camera on the back and it could be equipped with a 3500mAh battery.
