LG has officially announced its flagship smartphone for 2015. The LG G4 comes with a range of new features and upgrades over the 2014 model.

LG has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, G4. The new smartphone comes with a new camera and leather back along with a slew of new features.

The LG G4, successor to the LG G3, has a 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution. The display features a Quantum LCD panel which the company claims delivers high-contrast, vibrant images that rich and authentic in colour. LG also points out the in-cell Touch Display technology which is supposed to deliver a smoother and super-responsive feel as well as making the screen visible in daylight.

The G4 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor with X10 LTE along with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone has a 16MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization 2.0 and Laser Auto Focus, and 8MP front-facing camera. It comes with 32GB eMMC and supports micro-SD card slot up to 2TB.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1 LE (APT-x), USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac A-GPS, Glonass. HDMI SlimPort(4K) and NFC. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.  Check out the full specifications of the smartphone here.

One of the highlights of the smartphone, as previously rumoured, is inclusion of leather in design – something Motorola did with its Moto X and Moto 360. Motorola spared no time to point this out and posted on Twitter – “Letting you customise with genuine Horween leather since 2014. LG was quick to respond as it stated : "Thanks for choosing to watch [our event]." Hah.

The G4’s back covers come in metallic gray, ceramic white, gold, and genuine leather.

The G4 ships with 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years. The LG G4 will be initially launched in Korea while other regions will follow soon. The company hasn't revealed the price as yet.
